Birds don't like the seed if it has started to germinate so you wont loose half as much.</div>

Don;t expect to grow things you had in Houston, or st. Louis, or California. Buffalo grass might do well for you. Know the sun and shade areas. You will have a County Extension Service. Call them, they know what will and won't grow. Stay away from mail order and visit your local nursery. Look at what you see in other yards. As far as the weed and feed types of fertilizers, I think you should stay away from weed and feeds. Water before or after application? Will the weed part kill my grass? When do I fertilize? 95 F and up are extremely horrid temperatures NOT to do much but water. Know your areas average rainfall. Put the right plant in the right space. Do your homework, and do it locally. ASK lots of questions. With the bags of fertilizer, READ THE LABEL. Do not put a weed and feed product under trees or in garden area. FYI Scotts Turfbuilder is a fertilizer for any turf (bermuda, St. augustine) It contains no weed killers. Seed does NOT come in the same bag as the fertilizer. Scotts puts out bermuda grass seed and fescue seed (Not St. augustine because there is no seed for it on the market)</div>
